On August 13, 2008, my son, Steven Michael, 32 years old, was in a tragic car accident on Cumberland Street. Philadelphia Pa.
He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and spent several weeks in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Hahnemann University.
After two months, Steven is now in Moss Rehabilitation Center.
Traumatic Brain Injuries, like Steven’s, have a devastating aftermath.
Steven is unable to function and communicate normally.
His motor skills, thinking abilities and communication skills all have been affected. Basic functions that we take for granted are foreign to him. Steven worked at the Roofer’s Union for ten years. His life was tragically changed in an instant.
Although Steven will never fully recover, there is a chance to regain a quality of life. Unfortunately, this chance requires intense rehabilitation and nursing care for the rest of his life. The cost will be overwhelming and is not covered by insurance.
Your donations will make a huge difference! Steven is a strong individual. He is recovering from a head injury in which a nurse stated was "one of the worse I’ve ever seen."
Please help give my son a second chance at life. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, John Michael Steven’s father
